Contacts Search Window

Anyone know why the previous letters remain in my Contacts search window? That is, if I type a few letters in the search window, the appropriate contact appears, and I call the number, no prob. The next time I bring up the contacts search window, the previous letters I typed from the previous search are still present in the search window, So, before I can do a search, I must delete the letters from the previous search. Drives me crazy! Hopefully, I am just missing something and you guys can straighten me out. BTW, It seems to have developed since the recent OTA. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, that's just something it does. I agree, it's annoying. Especially when you forget and end up searching for some random amalgamation of names...
