Contacts Slow to Show

I had this problem with ICS and with JB. My contacts are very slow to appear in the stock phone app. I will be on the favorites screen, open a contact and go back to favorites and it will say that I have no favorites. It can take 5 to 10 minutes for the few favorites to repopulate. Likewise, my recent list will often go blank and take a long time to show back up.

All the same is true of the People app.

I realize that I have a lot of contacts (more than 2K). Still, the recently called and the favorites should not have to cause much processing to display.

Any suggestions for improvement, short of culling my contacts?

Still no reply on this. Am I the only one whose contacts are slow? It will take up to two or three minutes for just my favorites to show up sometimes (even when I was just in the app a few seconds earlier).

It is very frustrating to not be able to dial out when needed. I've tried third party apps and they all seem to have the same problem. It appears to be inherent in the OS.

Mine do not take that long to load, it could be the number of contacts that you have. I probably have less than 100.

Have you tried an app like Circle Launcher? You can select contacts to load for each circle. Would be nice for a smaller number of contacts to load if you could group them somehow.
