Contacts stored where? Galaxy Note 4

I just RESET my phone, trying to fix a call-somebody-back problem.
I copied everything off my phone onto my PC before doing this.
After the RESET, the contacts I get are just my GMail contacts, not all the manually entered ones.
Can they be recovered from my PC?

No they can't. They were stored in a secure area not visible to the user. They were never in the files you copied to your PC in the first place.

You should have used a backup program. Samsung for example has SmartSwitch. You install that on your PC to make a nearly complete backup of your entire phone.
