Contacts will not sync properly

I'm coming fromthe S7 Edge and have my contacts synced to my outlook.com Exchange account. If I log on to my account via the web, my Contacts are there. My problem is my S9+ won't download the contacts to the phone. I go into the Phone app and my Contacts aren't there, despite my setting contacts to sync with Exchange as the default.

I know it is connected because I started to re-add some of my Contacts and as I added them they appeared in my Contacts in my Exchange account.

Why won't the phone download my contacts?

great question! I came over to the 9+ from my s8 and noticed some of my contacts were missing. I need to log online to add them like you!

use the outlook app. it syncs contacts perfectly.

Didn't think of that. Can it handle multiple accounts? I have my work email set up in the Outlook app.

Problem with Outlook app is if you use Gmail in the app and add a new contact on the web or the native contact app you cannot send emails to that person
