There are phone numbers of people on my HTC Inspire that I want to get rid of! They are NO LONGER in my life...

For some reason, I CANNOT get rid/delete them. They are NOT on the sim card nor are they on my gmail account. They must be on the phone, but how do I get to them and erase them for good!

Really annoying!

I'm assuming you've already tried this, but you weren't specific, so I'll start from the simplest.
While in contacts, go to that specific contact, menu, delete.
Only trouble is, if it is on the phone, I had a problem with HTC sense sync putting them right back on.

If that doesn't work out for you, try this.
settings--accounts & sync--HTC Sense Then uncheck everything. That will clear your current sync history. Now go into your contacts menu--view and un-check everything but phone. Now only your phone contacts are shown. Delete what you like or all (that's what I ended up doing to clear dupes.) Now go back to your accounts & sync and re-check HTC Sense to re-backup your applist and such.
