I check Android Central for recommendations, because the market isn't particularly effective for me at finding the good stuff. This app is a great example-I probably wouldn't have found it were it not for AC.

I need to try this out...I am currently just using the staff picks section of Google Play to find tablet optimized apps.

Appbrain is a great way to find new apps. It has a bunch of filtering options and even allows a quick install through their web site and the Fast Web Install app.

By reading reviews on Android Central, and manually browsing through Google Play store, trying them, and going from there.

Play store editor picks, Android Central reviews, Android Community reviews and rootzwiki comments for root apps, in that order.
[EDIT]Sometimes I would use "users also viewed" section form the play store for finding lesser known but better rated aps...[/EDIT]

Normally I try to navigate using the web version of the play store and try to add for the device i want to install it on. Sometimes it works, sometimes, not so much.

I usually install and check what an app looks like. Othewise I get recommendations by asking around on forums.

From friends to blogs and just digging around the play store to find a good app. Oh let's not forget checking Androidcentral all the time.

I usually check Android Central, of course! Every once in a while I'll go to XDA and check out some apps in development, but often, I don't find anything useful there except some mods.

I usually search through the long and in my opinion, boring staff picks in the play store. God how I hate the overblown list of apps on my Touchpad >.<

I usually discover apps through AndroidCentral! You guys do a great job of bubbling up new, improved and the latest in games for me, just for opening my RSS Reader. Such a bunch of charmers, you! ;)

I peruse sites like this and dedicated magazines I can read for free at the bookstores.

Reading android central and browsing through the list of apps themselves. Samsung app site and play store take forever to go through, so this app would be very nice.

App reviews from Android Central and Appolicious, recommendations from friends, coworkers, and family.

If I'm really itching for something new to play with, the Google Play website serves me better than the Google Play app (IMO).

I like to download and use apps that are the most hyped about today and check them out for myself.
