Converting Video for HTC Evo

I couldn't get DVDfab7 to convert any of my iTunes Digital Copies. As soon as I attempt to open the file it starts a progress bar for import then closes.

Any other software or ideas?

I've also been using DVDFab with my 755p and Pre, and it's been very good to me; Handbrake gives you more options but, in my experience, it's a tad slower using the same hardware.

However, I am really disappointed at the stock video player on the EVO (is that the same as the default Android player?). Why can't the player show the video's name, and not just the first few screens? Why is there no auto-resume when switching to another app (so much for multi-tasking)?

Is there another video player that has these features but has a decent looking UI (like the stock EVO player)? Some of the players I've seen recommended have some awfully looking UIs (amateurish, if you will).

Here's how they look after converting with dvdfab. The sound quality is excellent, I set my volume settings on the conversion option to 200% and the speakers were a lot louder than I gave it credit for. Other converters I used it made the audio too low. I'd record a video to show you if I could, but I doubt it will pick up the quality. Screen shots don't do the evo justice they look much crispier and sharper in person.

^ That's what I think of Disney's digital copies! I couldn't get it to work on anything (including wm player) till I converted it.

Nope sorry Mine were wmv digital copy.

I'd like to know this as well. I've been using the stock player and hate when I get a txt and loose my spot on the player

I don't think Handbreak will get around DRM like DVDFab does and it's more complicated to use than DVDFab... it can be difficult to find the right combination of settings to work. I use DVDFab most of the time and it works great. Although I still keep Handbreak in my toolbox cause it'll convert just about anything.

I gave up on handbrake when it took 3 hours of my life to tell me the protected errors. I was so bummed I'm definitely purchasing dvdfab after my trial. It made all my movie conversion flawless and worry-free on my EVO and now my Zune HD.

Mine were iPod/iPhone > iPhone, 640x352 1500 kbps. Make sure you put the volume on stereo and up the %. I had it on default (100%) I could barely hear it on the evo.

hmmm can't figure out why it's not working for me, they come out all distorded all i can hear is like bunch of noises and screen is all sorts of colors...

I use Any Video Converter. You can pick the aspect ratio or create your own, works very well for me and it is free.

for some reason no matter what i use, DVDFab or Any Video Converter my files look like this:

are my files corrupted or something? i'm using windows vista ultimate but that shouldn't matter...

Download Act 1 Video Player from the Market and see if it plays any better.

that's the thing, inside all these converters they have this little player on the side to play the file, and they all play like this, all my digital copies, they only play in WMplayer correctly...

which makes me wonder if my files somehow are corrupted.

I just had this same issue with the pixelated files. I found that when the movies opened up in the media player that this happened. I closed windows media player and opened the dvd in the intervideo player and it copied perfectly. I used dvdfab and I am stunned by how good it looks, and fast too. Thanks for all the hints from previous posters, hope this helps.

When using DVDFab and the iPhone settings provided on page 3, does the video quality look like the Transformers 1&2 on the HD2 (that came preloaded), and does it fill the whole screen w/o any cropping?

man, i just copied a regular DVD w/ DVDFab all i can say is wow, that looks great.. holy crap forget the digital media, i'll just rent the regular dvd and do it that way. i didn't change any settings, i just selected iphone and put the volume at stereo and raised it up to 200%...

This is my first rip the movie was Super Bad, for some reason it has subtibles, but hey i don't care it looks amazing and it only took 26 minutes to make into an mp4 and pass it to the phone. size was about 1.2gb though but hey w/e i don't care
