Check out Next Launcher its like $16 so kind of expensive but really well done.

Any choppyness is the recording and not the launcher. the launcher is super smooth on our device

Pretty cool. Kind of reminds me of an old desktop operating system. Its like ita a mix of new and old, neat idea for sure. Don't know if I would pay $16 for any app....

I have been using the Next Launcher for a few weeks now and I have no complaints. I particularly appreciate the ability to place and arrange more incon/widgets than the stock touch wiz.
The only problem I have (and it may not be Next?s fault) is each time I restart the phone the system forces me to choose between all of the launchers I have loaded. I select Next and am told the default is now established and provides the path/instructions on how to set or change the default. I have done this a couple of time and still I get the choice whenever I reboot/restart.

You get the same thing with SPB and others. Apparently it's a problem all the shell launchers are trying to get a workaround for.
