Coolest thing the Thunderbolt can do

So we hear all of the negative stuff about random reboots (which I have not had) and poor battery life, which is tolerable knowing I can turn off 4g and be fine.

So, that aside, I want to know what is the coolest thing you have done with your Thunderbolt.

For me, I have access to all of my movies. I have a server with 400+ movies and probably 20 different tv series. I use my htpc at home with a program called XBMC to play them. When I'm away though I don't have any way to access them....until now. I found that I can use my Thunderbolt to play the content when away from home using an app called UPnPlay (which connects to my server) and MoboPlayer which plays the file on my bolt.

These are full 1080/720p files and the bolt chews through them.:D

I really enjoy the DLNA feature even though I cant figure out how to play something from my phone to my pc or tv. playing things on my PC to phone i have down though and I really enjoy the little things HTC Sense offers like laying your phone screen down to silent calls or put em on speaker.

Dish network app connected with Slingbox, all the live TV and recorded programs I want. Don't really worry bout Netflix with that. Plus all the content is HD and Verizon's 4G LTE Network is more than capable of streaming it. As long as your Internet has a decent upload speed, you're good to go!

Check out PLEX, has worked flawlessly for me.

It doesn't drop calls. (Well, that maybe more of a Veri$on thing but yeah, no dropped calls:cool:)

TechSupportGuy, XBMC is a great product. I have a Control4 system (can control lights, door locks, security system, while house audio/video, etc...), and that combined with my slingbox provides me access to my entire media library (over 1,200 movies), and all my other video sources (Roku, Comcast HDDVR's, etc...). I love that capability and use it all the time, but my Droid X did that too.

The coolest thing my Thunderbolt does is simultaneous voice and data over 3G. Lame, I know...but it's the little things that count.

For me it's the voice and data at the same time. I can talk and still use my Google navigation. Very nice.

Although it is not TB specific, I find ffc/video calls the coolest.

AND simultaneous voice + data of course.

Danny, get Twonky Server from the Market. The TBolt does not act as a DLNA server natively, only as a client. When you run Twonky your DLNA-capable devices will see the TBolt as a server and you can stream from your phone to them then.

The awesome ROMs and available kernels for it.
And the kickstand.

I like this. The kickstand is a beast and underrated. The roms support just takes it to the next level.

Not having my outgoing texts fail bc there's one coming in. This is huge.

Also the dev support is insane.

Stream YouTube and other video sites without waiting or pausing for buffering (4G LTE). :-)

Play music while flipping between games, Internet, and text messages.

Listen to Internet radio stations in car.

Play high end games like Modern Combat 2 and Air Attack HD.

Browse, download, and listen to MP3s from Amazon from anywhere without a computer.

Use GPS fitness app to track calories, speed, and distance while jogging.

Snap photos and upload to Facebook from same device without a computer or wires.

Also a couple lame-o things... Create Craigslist postings - no PC needed. Always have a GREAT camera at the ready - in fact, my D40 is feeling very neglected now....

Google navigator - nuff said... :)

google navigator was just freaking awesome!

I love that it is basically a pint-sized laptop in my pocket.

And yeah, the simultaneous data/voice usage is great. It was one of the major gripes I had about my LG enV Touch.

Now if I could only get rid of my bloatware without rooting the darn thing...
