Does the Droid X have copy and paste? I tried copying contents from an email I got and it's impossible... Any help here? Sorry I'm new to Android and help would be great.

mostly copy n paste is in the browser. the copy n paste sucks donkey

You can only copy and paste editable text which oddly does not include text in an email.

Froyo improves the cut/paste ability but only marginally.

This is terrible news. The Copy paste on the incredible was well.. Incredible.

Is there an app for this? With froyo will it get copy and paste?

I am working on putting my first impressions blog piece together and discovered yesterday that copy-and-paste is not comprehensive. This is BS!

Funnily enough, I was just dinging Windows Phone 7 in another forum because they plan to launch this fall without broad multitasking and copy-and-paste. Go figure.

Well, WinMo7 doesn't have cut and paste at all, while the Android implimentation is lacking compared to the BlackBerry implimentation (and roughly equivalent to what most iPhone users get). It certainly needs to be fixed asap in my opinion too, but it's not quite like it was left out altogether.

True. I was just hit with the feeling that only being able to cut-and-paste my own text, and not from text in the in e-mails I receive is useless. I might as well just hit the backspace. At least you can long press on phone numbers to copy them. That's something my wife complained about with the Gmail app on her Blackberry. Given that I talked her into getting the Droid X, I am trying to her happy and interested in the platform.

If I remember correctly, the Incredible could copy and paste from the text of received email if you used the HTC email client.

All 2.1 Sense UI phones allow you to copy and paste from within their own mail client. You can only do Gmail copy and paste with 2.2.
