I have a WinXP laptop that can use my router, and an HTC V One that can use my router. But they don't see each other, and I would like to transfer files from the laptop to the phone without that pesky USB cable.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

First you have to get the two to recognize each other. What version of WIFI you running on XP? B, G or N ?

Then after you get that issue resolved you can use a program like ES File Explorer or many other 3rd party file managers to transfer the files.

Ahhh, AstroFile. I knew at one point I'd seen the laptop off the phone.

But. When I try to copy my music from my laptop to my phone I get "Can't write file" errors. Uh, why can't you write the file? Permission error (doubtful)? Out of space (definitely not)? Read only filesystem (nope)? One of my pet peeves are error messages like that with no indication of the true problem.

Anyway, I look on the SDCARD and turns out under My Music I have a directory for the Artist, under that the directory for the album. So far so good. But under that is a directory for the Artist, a directory for the album, repeat about 6 times until I come to an empty directory.

Is this an Astro File issue, or am I farking something up somewhere?
