I am switching from sprint to VZ next month and was wondering which store to do business with? Corp or dealer? Can anyone please tell me which is better or which one to stay away from? Thank you on advance!

Donny

A dealer wanted to charge me $35 dollars to switch my micro sim to a nano sim where as the corporate store did it for free, hope this provides some useful insight.

I personally recommend dealing with Corporate stores. If you buy from an Authorized retailer, you potentially have to deal with both Verizon policy and any additional policies that the retailer adds. By going through Verizon Corporate stores, you only have to deal with Verizon policy.

Corporate usually. When I recently swapped I used a dealer but that's due to my friends buddy working at that location so I didn't even worry.

Probably corporate. Compare, sometimes third party outlets run special promotions that work better for you.

Word of caution with third party dealers.... Ask about charges they do. I just had one sneak in $9.99 set up charges per line. That is their charge not Verizon. Verizon is going to have a $30 activation charge on your next bill. So ask about the charges they charge. I paid the $9.99 set up because it was still better deal then Verizon had, but I wouldn't have if it was exact same thing Verizon was offering. So like I said, compare them, get the best deal you can.

I used to be strictly corporate, but with the elimination of contracts, and early upgrades are hard if not impossible to get from corporate, they made it so where you buy a phone doesn't matter anymore, so go where you get the best deal IMO.

I avoid small third party shops but larger retailers like best buy and Costco are ok.

Also keep in mind that some third party can be more flexible on the rules... Depends on where you go.

The place I went to was Cellular Sales of North Florida. They have a bunch of various shops. I only went though due to knowing the guy otherwise I probably would have went to the corporate store around the corner from my house.

I usually deal with Corp stores. Dealer stores are generally less crowded. Also although they offer same phones and plans, everything still goes thru verizon. So why not just stick with Corp. Then again the website is the best place since you don't even have to go out.

Good point on the corporate stores, they are always so busy. You will probably be at a corporate store longer

This is why I only go to corporate stores during non peak hours. Otherwise, I wait or stick to ordering online.
I've walked into corporate stores just after they open and waiting line already.

I got moved up pretty fast one time when I was trying to buy a couple accessories, the person asked for my name and said get to me ASAP. I handed them the accessories and said take me off I'll buy elsewhere. Amazing I was taken care of right there on the spot. Corporate stores need to have a dedicated accessories register instead of thinking people can wait til activations are done to check out.
