Corporate Sync Issue

I have a client who is using a Droid Bionic and I am helping them set up their work email (Exchange) and running in to problems. I do not have the phone physically with me as we are not in the same state so I am going off his word on what he is seeing and doing. I used to personally own a Photon so I am familiar with how Motorola's account setup is different then most other Android devices, but what he is telling me he is seeing is different from how I remember or from what I have found online. He is saying there is no option under "Add Account" for Corporate Sync. All he sees is an option that looks like a red stamp with an @ symbol which says Corporate instead of Email (which I recall it saying). I tried for s and gigs to just use that and it will not configure his Exchange email. Am I missing something or is he just not looking at it right and relaying the correct info to me? My only other option is to have him download a different Exchange App from the Play Store, but most of the decent ones are paid apps and I don't think he wants to do that. Thanks in advance for the help.

Several things...when a new OS is installed on a phone, *many* default settings in various apps are done differently than with the previous OS. Almost have to go through each to double check all the set-ups to be certain...Sync on or off?, sync when?, how often?, when deleting on phone, keep copy on server?

Here's a link for the .pdf file for the Bionic User Manual with ICS: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...ename/DROID_BIONIC_UG_ICS_US_68017134001A.pdf (it's a large file and slow to open)

Yes the icon for email is as he described...Bionic with ICS centralized on one icon. Some Corporate email hassles were fixed by merely deleting the account and re-adding it back.

I suggest you both get the Users Manual for reference and consider passing screen shots back and forth so each knows what the other is seeing.

Good luck!

When my Bionic updated the OS, it changed my corporate account to an e-mail account. I had to delete the old e-mail account in several places before I could reinstall the corporate account. I deleted the main profile under accounts, but had to also go into the e-mail program to delete it there. That was a day's worth of digging!

A coworker of mine ended up helping the guy set it up and apparently it is now listed as Business Sync instead of Corporate Sync which is what threw me off.
