Correct adaptor/cable for HDMI?

What's the correct cable/adapter for HDMI connection to television?

Thanks

Well, your question led to me finally explore a few of the accessories I picked up at BestBuy last week. Still trying to make sure I like the Tab S before opening packages.

But the HDTV adapter did not have a SEAL so I just opened the box, opened the ziplock baggie and it works.

Item is the NOT-cheap official Samsung adapter.

HDTV Smart Adapter with MHL (trademark) Technology.

The stick on label with bar code is: ET-H10FAUWESTA

It takes a standard sized hdmi cable not a micro. It also has a port for a micro usb charger. So I gather you can charge your TAB while it it connected to the TV.

Edited to add: scanned the qr code on the box and here's the link

I'm after just straight hdmi cable that plugs into the tablet without an extra need to charge as well.
Or does the Samsung need to be charging whilst playing movies to the TV?
I have a Motorola Xoom that just uses a single cable. Unfortunately that doesn't fit.

I'm really new to the Tab and this "adapter" device. My Blackberry phone and Playbook Tablet are just staright micro-hdmi to regular hdmi cables. No adapters necessary. But, the adapter I reference above worked fine with just an hdmi-hdmi cable. I did not need to plug in a charger-cable into the adapter's socket. Now, clearly, the battery will only be able to power the combo for a while and the Tab S will eventually need to either be charged separately or possibly through that socket.

In some of the reviews of the adapter, there were comments about the charger being needed or not working. But, again, I'm new to Android and Samsung and the "MHL" port on the tablet. I separately purchased a USB-on-the-go adapter and was able to hook up my camera and a usb thumb drive to the Tab S. So that the micro-"usb" port on the Tab S is multi-functional and can serve a variety of input/output processes besides being also the charging port.
