Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I am a new Android user with a new M8, the problem I seem to be having is making custom wallpapers. No matter what size canvas I use in PhotoShop I always have to crop when setting it as a wallpaper on the phone. Have any of you guys had any luck with custom wallpapers and no cropping.

Make the picture 1920 tall and 1080 wide. That may work, but I can't guarantee it.

Thanks for the help, I haven't had a chance to test that size. Tomorrow I will try that and let you know how I get on. Thanks so much for the help :-)

Ok so I used your size and they came out much better :-) They still need cropping though, so frustrating. I made a separate lock screen and home screen.

The size you need without cropping is about 1080x1800. It's still off by a few pixels but requires much less cropping than 1080x1920. There are other threads about this where people blindly answer "1080x1920" without understanding that the home screen wallpaper resolution isn't the same as the overall screen resolution. The wallpaper aspect ratio is NOT 16:9 / 9:16.

Not sure which phone you're using, but 1080x1920 doesn't require any cropping. The HTC wallpaper setting tool always gives you the option to crop, regardless of resolution, but you can drag the crop box all the way to the edge on a 1080x1920 image if you don't want it to be cropped.

That was going to be my question, it's very frustrating that I can't seem to find or use any of my stock photos for wallpaper as simply as I did with my M7. It does not allow for cropping or offer the option to crop in either gallery or photos.
