Cortana - anywhere? How do you do it?

Hey,

I am an ex-Windows phone user (yeah, Windows phones really were useless for the limited apps, but their ease of use was amazing). I miss Cortana (I like Ok Google, but Cortana has personality).

I am in Sweden and I can't get Cortana here (I want it in English anyway) and I can't seem to work out how to fool Google Store that I am in the UK or US. Then do I need to fool the phone that I am in the UK or US as well?

How can this be done? Has anyone done it successfully? Am I at risk of missing out on something if I change my region to UK or US?

From what i have read so far (also preparing for a switch due to lack of new devices, not apps), you just can sideload Cortana.

Sideloading is an option, but then you have to get your hands on the Cortana APK.
Main problem with this is how to pick a trusty source for a safe APK, and second: what version will you find on the Internet and will it update after you've sideloaded it?

Another option is setting up a VPN, and restart Play Store when connected (clear Store cache and force stop app). Haven't tried this one yet...

Anyone here who can report successfully with either one of the options?

And another important question: if you somehow get the APK and sideload that, will Cortana -once installed- update regularly through the Play Store?? (even when you're in, let's say Europe).
