AC Question
While I was waiting for Bixby Voice, I tried Cortana. As a prior Windows Phone user is had a very good experience with Cortana. The most impressive and desired function initially not seemingly available on the S8+ with OK Google is the ability to be driving and receive voice notifications of Calls and texts and being able to have the text read and replied to, all with my voice, never having to touch the phone.
So while waiting for Bixby Voice I gave Cortana a shot. To my surprise, naively I think, the implementation on android doesn't have the same voice control functionality. So I waited used mostly OK Google. Bixby finally released, the most desired functionality still does not exits, although I can say read my text message. So I removed Cortana and went back to OK Google. The problem is Cortana took control over my home button's long press and now I cannot reset the home to call OK google. I have had to do a factory reset of the phone.
I don't know who to be more pissed at; Samsung for having every possible configuration option except the Soft buttons of Microsoft for having Cortana take control over the Home button - yes they give you a choice between a pop up saying just this one or permanent. But I did not see anything saying once done no going back!
I guess this is as much a warning as anything else.
