Hi,
Does anybody know if Cortana will be "deeply integrated" with the custom cm roms in the same was as the OS?
Thanks

Hi there,

You are confusing the deeply integrated language between CM and COS. Cortana will NOT be present in CM as part of the builds. If you would like cortana on those builds, you can get the APK in the play store.

Where it will be deeply integrated is with Cyanogen OS (COS) builds that come on our partner devices.

I think this is a great option for open source builds. Being able to integrate cortana in at a base level will allow her to be used as assistant in much the same way moto assistant is. You will be able to wake your phone from across the room, you will be able to enable her to do many tasks that you couldn't do and a much faster response then just the app add-on from the play store. I think if I had option of a custom rom with her baked in or one without. I would choose the one with her in it..

Appreciate your thoughts here Ryaan. There are no plans to do this with CM official releases at this point. This is potentially a "controversial" issue, as most CM users would (understandably) balk at the idea.

Maybe make it a lot more accessible?

I would like to try Cortana, but at its full potential. Not the restricted version that's out on the Play Store...

Today I got the update on my Oneplus One which had an update today and after the update I got Cortana but unfortunately it doesn't support India. My question is how do I enable it to work in India?

Doesn't support India? What exact error are you seeing so I can ping the engineers.

Unfortunately your country is not supported please visit us again. Also I did the mock location under cortana settings but still no luck.

Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately I don't have good news as Cortana is indeed not available in India as of yet. That being said, I don't think this will be a permanent situation, but I don't have an ETA as to when or if it will become available.
