I just got back from Costco. That's where I bought my Atrix 30 days ago. The salesperson who waited on me at the time, lied to me about their policy. Of course, I could have read it myself, but that's another issue for a -whole- different kind of forum lol

They apologized, but the Infuse won't be available in store until May 15.

I can't speak to new contracts, but I can to upgrade contracts with AT&T.

Costco Policy:

All phones are warrantied for 90 days. So, if your phone messes up on day 90, Costco will replace it with a brand, spankin' new phone or, you can select a different brand new phone. On day 91, the warranty reverts to AT&T. With AT&T, if your phone messes up between day 91 and 1 year from the date of your contract (9 months), they will send you a refurb, not a brand new phone. After one year from the date of your contract, you're out of luck. Of course, you can go after the manufacturer like I did RIM, and get a refurb that way, at least that worked for me.

1) If you upgrade after your 2 year contract is up (like I did), the buyer's remorse period is 30 days. That means, if you decide you don't like the phone, or you don't like the carrier or whatever, you can return the phone for a refund within 30 days and they will reverse your new contract back to the original without any cost to you and you go back to your original phone. In my case, I went back to my broken Blackberry.

If you decide not to return the phone, but swap it out for the same phone (new) or, swap it out for an entirely different new phone, Costco will honor the 90 day warranty but, it's from the date of your contract. So, if you wait until day 30 like I did, the Costco warranty on the new phone would be 60 days.

Because the Infuse wasn't in stock yet, the girl said, no worries, just come back to me and I'll honor the 30 day swap. She acted like she was doing me a big favor, which set off alarm bells in my head. She said this because she didn't want me to reverse my contract. I opted to cancel my new contract because I wanted a full 90 day Costco warranty on the Infuse. If I'd taken her up on her offer and Costco didn't get the Infuse for another 3 weeks, that would be 3 weeks off the 90 day Costco Warranty on the Infuse and I'd be locked into AT&T for 2 years.

So, there you have it. If this has been written about somewhere else in here, I apologize. I couldn't find anything, so I thought it might help someone out there who was thinking about buying a phone and upgrading their contract through Costco.

Me too. I can't stand using this broken BB anymore. The thing doesn't ring, or make any other sound for that matter. Infuse here I come!

Can you exchange your phone at Costco within 90 days for a different phone from same carrier?

No one answered my post but I got my own answer yesterday and it is no. After the 30th days all you can do is cancel your line completely if you are unhappy. My ATRIX was having issues and the guy was going to swap it and then realized I was past 30 and directed me too Att phone number.

<edit> I'm sorry I didn't see your question sooner. That's absolutely not correct. The people working in those booths are uneducated about what they're selling. I was lied to initially, but then spoke to another rep who told me he didn't know what the other person was talking about.

Costco warranty's all their phones for 90 days. You can swap for a different phone or, if you like the phone but it's acting up, you can exchange it for a new one. I would talk to the manager of your Costco to get things straight. AT&T takes over the warranty after 90 days from the date you sign the contract at Costco. The carrier's trial period (AT&T) is 30 days so, in that 30 days, you can cancel your contract and return the phone without incurring early termination fees.

Print out the Costco return/exchange policy and take it with you to Costco. They can't argue with facts.

<edit> Included Costco's return and exchange policy regarding wireless devices.

If I do not like my phone, can I exchange my phone for another phone?

Costco.com's exchange policy for cellular phones is 90 days from date of purchase. During the exchange process you will be charged the full retail price for your replacement phone until your original purchase has been returned to us. Upon receipt and processing of your original device we will refund the full price of your replacement phone.

If I do not like my phone, can I return it?

Costco's return policy for any Wireless Advocates merchandise is 90 days from date of purchase. This includes all wireless accessories and handsets. Within 90 days you may receive a refund on the handset itself once it is received back into our distibution center. However, you will still be responsible for any applicable early termination fees if service is canceled after the Trial Period. The Trial Period varies by carrier and state. See carrier Cancellation Policy for details.

Call or email for return authorization and a prepaid label. After receiving the label, send the item back. Upon receipt at our distribution center, you will be refunded, this process takes approximately 1-2 weeks.

Good info! Thanks for posting.

Good info! Thanks for posting.

Well Costco doesn't make their return/exchange policy easily accessible on their website. You have to do a bit of digging, but it's there. I went hunting for it when I realized the first rep didn't know what he was talking about and then a second rep relayed incorrect information as well. My advice to anyone looking to buy a phone at Costco is to print out the return/exchange policy from their website and take it in with you. They can't dispute the policy if you have it in hand. Anyway, I hope the additional info helps someone.
