I have had my phone for about a month. The apps that I have are ones that I have used for monthe. I had loaded new apps, but taken them off because I did not like them. I do have the lightning launcher pro installed and have been using it for about a week now.

I have been using my phone this morning and sat it down for about 30 minutes. When I picked my phone up again, I pressed the power button as I always do and nothing happened. I tried about 5 times. I finally did a battery pull and now it is working fine.

Not sure if anyone else has had the issue. I could not find another thread on it. I will post here if it happens anymore.

This could have been attributed to one of the recently added apps. If it happens again try and delete the apps you recently installed then re add those apps one by one giving some time in between each install to pinpoint the problem app. This way you can find a replacement for that app if it's causing your device to lock in sleep.

I have uninstalled all the recently installed apps except for the lightning launcher which I have had on for a week. All the other apps are apps I have used for a long period of time. Maybe onw of those apps updated and caused the freeze. I need to check that.

Mine did the exact same thing this morning. What's weird is just prior to this happening is I was not getting any sounds from email notifications or screen lock/unlock. Then a few minutes later I noticed the led notification light blinking, again no sound from having received a notification, and the home button and sleep/wake button would not wake the phone, totally unresponsive. I long pressed the power (sleep/wake) button until the phone powered off then on. Since then all has been back to normal. Like you, I have not added or deleted any apps in weeks. The only change received in the last 24 hours was an update to Google+ and Hangouts. May be just a glitch, will wait and see if it happens again before I make any changes.

That is what I am hoping and that the shut down and restart or battery pull clears the issue. I did not pay attention to the led. Hopefully if others have this issue they will post here as well.

Well mine did it two more times and they started getting closer together, so I ended up doing a factory reset. I'm just gonna slowly reinstall my apps and see what happens.

Not sure if this is the same problem however..........I have had my note 3 for about a month and have been very happy with it since ditching the iphone. As i work nights in a remote petrol station my note is very useful at keeping my insanity in check! I have been very impressed with the battery life (which leads to my fault).

I have managed to get 3 days worth of use out of my note without charging, thats 9am - 9am of use, sleep, 6pm - 9am of use, sleep, 6pm - 9am of use ending on 31% of battery on the handset. I was extreamly impressed by this as it wasnt a planned test and was just my usual usage. However on the final morning of use ending on 31% i knew that when i was going to get up i was going to a relatives house for yummy sunday lunch and to use there wifi as mine isn't connected yet so i charged the handset, once awake and connected i updated every app (including this google+ thing) and installed a natwest banking app which i used once and had previously on my iphone so knew the app well. Did general web surfing and facebook chatting and then went to work. Now i work 10pm - 8am, i got to work with a working handset, and texted and mailed as usual whilst working. Set the phone down with 80% battery power, work was intence due to lazy day staff so didnt get back to my phone for around 3 hours. I picked the handset up and it was unresponsive. tried buttens many times with no joy, held unlock button and phone started as if it was off and then it told me the battery had died and it needed charging because it was completly empty!!!

Luckely i keep a spare charger in the car so plugged it in straight away and as i type it is "charging". What the hell could of caused it to go from 80 - 0 in three hours of non use (and i monitor my apps and nothing unusual was running).

sorry for the long post, but i like to give all the facts to help diagnose the problem

You can go into settings and then battery and open the battery and see what is using your battery the most. It is most likely an app that was trying to connect like hangouts or another one and could not get a connection and kept pinging, that will drain the battery too.

This happened to me twice on my Verizon Note 3. Both times it was during gmail notification. The phone would vibrate but no notification sound. The first time was a few weeks ago (before google+ and hangout updates). I did a battery pull to reset. The second time was last week. The power and home buttons were non responsive. I pulled out the s-pen and the screen turned on but frozen. A minute later the screen turned off and about a minute after that the phone resets itself.

So far after the factory reset I did yesterday, I have not had anymore issues. Knock on wood! After the factory reset I went and turned off a lot of the crap like hangouts, etc.

Hopefully it was just some update that caused an issue and the factory reset fixed it. I hate doing a factory reset though because it takes so long to get it back the way I had it.

I'm having the exact same issue, except I'm on a Note 2. I'll randomly pick my phone up and try unlocking it and the screen doesn't come on, whether I hit the power button or the home button on the front. Nothing happens, totally unresponsive. If the phone is plugged in the LED is bright red (brighter than the normal red charging light), if it's not plugged in the LED will be "breathing" going from light blue to blue. The weird thing is my phone still works, if I get a text it will show up in mightytext on my comp, or if I'm tethering my wifi will still be on. It's like the screen just doesn't want to come on. I end up pulling the battery every time.

No new apps or settings. At this point it's happening 3 or 4 times a day.
