I just purchased the Leef Bridge USB drive for use with my N10. I bought it for the purpose of storing music files on it. My question is how do i get the Google Play Music app to recognize the files on the USB drive. When I choose the "on device" option the screen shows "listen now" is empty. I did install Media Importer and do realize it has it's own music player but I prefer the Google player.
My second question is how do I get Astro File Manager to recognize the USB drive? I guessing it's somewhere under the folder hierarchy but I just can't find it.
Thanks in advance.

The problem is that you have to get your device to recognize the USB as file storage so that other apps can access it.

If you're rooted, you could try something like this:

You should have gotten a widrive.
It creates a network and you connect through your wifi.
I got a 500 gig Seagate GoFlex Satelite.
500 gigs holds a lot of music and movies.
There is an app to connect to it but you can easily connect through your internet browser.

Get the Nexus Media Importer from the play store....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.homeysoft.nexususb.importer&hl=en

and an OTG Micro-USB Cable..

It's what I'm using VERY successfully... I hook up 750GB External drive with NO problems!
Reads everything! Will hook up thumb drives or any other storage!

To save battery, I'm also using a Powered USB Hub!
Drive to Hub > Hub to N10 by OTG Cable!

CS

Yeah, but he wants Google Play Music to recognize it. Even with the Nexus Media Importer and the OTG cable, it's not "on device" as far as Play Music is concerned.

Not going to happen. The Google Play Music app on the Nexus 10 will look for music on the device. Google frowns on SD cards and will thwart attempts at every turn.
