Hey guys, dropped my fascinate onto cement from about two feet up, of course it landed on the corner and cracked my screen glass, lame. I had a crackberry storm for two years and had dropped and abused that phone with no cracked screen or any other problems, it would appear the fascinate is not nearly as robust.

Anyway, how the heck do I get the screen replaced? Through Samsung I suppose? Is this something where I can order the screen and have it installed locally? Thanks guys, Mike

^^ What phissure said. If you don't have insurance, and you are still in your 30 days, then add the insurance.

Well I'm not sure I would make the same choice in your position, but it's good to know the screens are out there. Post up your experience swapping it out :)

You can only do the insurance twice so I figured I would be better off waiting until I lose it or really twist it up! Last winter I ran over my Storm with my sled, putting two big old pick holes in it, needless to say I needed the insurance that time! Another time I warrantied it because I outright lost it.

I know they dont send new phones as a replacement, refurbs are the norm so I figured heck with it, I will do it myself for the same price plus glean some knowledge on the way...

Take some pics while you are doing it. Might help someone else out in the future.

And while you are at it, try to add a notification LED in there!

Plus my phone it completely setup how I want it, rooted, de-binged, de-crapware... Didnt feel like going through all that again!

thats the one thing i miss about blackberry's. They were bricks. I threw mine through a wall once (literally through the wall) and it just snapped back together and all was well.

Take lots of pics when you replace it and post them for us. Would LOVE to see the tear down & rebuild! Good luck!
