Cracked Glass/Digitizer......Do I need entire display assembly or just glass

Hello All. First post here on Android Central.

Got this HTC Evo 4G LTE that fell face down and the glass cracked. I want to replace the glass. LCD is fine. I read somewhere how the LCD and Digitzer/Glass are "fused" together like on the iPhone 4 and you can't just replace one or the other, you have to replace them as a unit.

Is this the case? Or can I just replace digitizer/glass?

I've found the glass on eBay for about $20, and the entire unit (LCD and Digitizer/Glass) pre-assembled for about $62. I want to be 100% sure that I can replace just the glass, before ordering anything.

I havn't did one yet but i would do a google search. I have found replacing the unit as one piece is the best way to go.

I dont think they are bonded like the samsung amoled screens but i could be wrong. When you say glass im sure its the glass/digitizer all in one which should be held down with a strip of 2 sided foam style tape which you can buy. Use a hair dryer to help and take your time. keep it dust free and you should be fine.
