What would you guys suggest to do if you had a cracked screen on a note 2? It works 100% fine but the screen is badly cracked everywhere..

Can you get a replacement on ebay for like $30 or does the lcd need to be replaced to? Idk why the lcd would need replaced if the phone still works fine though.

Just trying to save money instead of paying a deductable.

Thanks

You could start looking for a replacement screen on eBay or other sites. I really doubt your going to find it for $30 or anything cheap like that being a new device but you never know.

There are some on ebay for $29 with free shipping. And amazon. For replacement screens/glass.

Also comes with the tools...

But how do I know if I need 2 replace the lcd with the screen?

you're not going to be able to sort out a cracked screen problem for the measly sum of $30 you should take it to a specialist mobile phone repairers and get it done properly, I must admint I am so concious of not dropping mine as I know it will break due to the size of the screen it's a shame I do feel for you especially if like me it's your pride and joy )

You certainly can fix digitizers on the cheap. I've done it plenty for iPhone users and some Android phones as well. I figured the note 2 would be more expensive than an iPhone. If double check that it is in fact the correct part.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Android Central Forums.

If I have been helpful to you, please go to the store, buy a bunch of beer, and send it to my house.

If it looks like you're looking through a broken windshield at a screen you'll just need the glass and not the LCD. If it looks like the image below the glass is all messed up in any part, you'll need an lcd. You should be able to see the liquid part of the lcd seeping out under the screen if that's broken. If it looks fine just order the glass.
Also, if this will be your first time doing this I'd watch some videos. Watch them over and over and over and over. You think I'm kidding, about the repetition but I'm not. Not having actual experience doing this means you'll need to learn as much as you can beforehand. And when you learn it you'll need to be able to remember every little detail. Screws may be different lengths, cables may be a PITA. Please take the time to educate yourself and read read watch watch all you can. I don't want to see you waste the money on glass to break something else.

My first time ever doing an iPhone, I watched a video once and said "oh ez!" When I went to do it, I broke part of the board (namely the clip that held in cable 3), rendering the phone of no use. It looked nice though with the new glass! There was another time I did manage to crack an iPhone lcd while installing a digitizer which was not lack of knowledge, just poor quality of work on my part. Please don't screw yourself.
