Hi, has anyone who crashed during the OTA on 6/28 ran the RUU to flash the phone w/the factory image?

If you want to try you can get the RUU here: (shipped rom) RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

You may have to be persistent in running the EXE, there have been reports that when the screen is just blank the software will sometimes error out, at this point people re-ran the EXE file and it was able to push through the recovery.

I hope this helps...

Would this possibly work to fix mine with the "stuck on update screen" issue? At this point the only thing the phone does it restart itself every 30 seconds just to sit on the same screen again...my PC won't even recognize it.

At that point I would try it, are you able to get in to any other menus by hitting the volume up or down buttons on the stuck on update screen?

I cannot access any other menus whatsoever. Since there are only three hard buttons to even push, its pretty easy to figure out that nothing will work. Is there a reset button under the hood somewhere?

I downloaded the application but it cannot find the Evo.

Did you try holding on the Volume Down button and pressing the power button?

I would try this a few times to be sure. The program has worked when the phone has been in various different states.

Also it's a great idea to try what ArkAngel06 said, you might have to pull the battery and try to simultaneously hold down the power and volume down button to get it to interrupt whatever the phone is doing.

I'll give it a shot...

Nice post!
I used the old RUU to unroot, and then I upgraded to the recent update.

However, warning... I backed up everything I had with Titanium Backup... but since there is no UNREVOKED, I can't access them after using the RUU.
So now I'm going to have to wait for the unrevoked cause I don't want to do a full root.

Ran the RUU close to 10 times, got nothing.

I tried doing the battery pull and hard reset process in every combination imaginable, still nothing. I wish the phone had just totally bricked, it would be less frustrating. Since I have it plugged in to my computer currently, the thing keeps resetting itself back to the upgrading screen (from the upgrading screen) and my PC makes a noise each time. Its taunting me.

I'm guessing you've tried battery pulls. Make sure you're not connected to the charger or computer while you're doing it though.

Did you run the RUU while the phone was doing different things?

Not sure why it was moved either. Mods?

Anyway, I believe the battery died because the screen turned black for a while. I plugged in the USB cord and the LED blinked on and off for a few minutes, then went solid red. Ran the RUU twice, no luck. I tried to restart the phone at that point, the boot screen popped up again.

I have ran the RUU and done the hard reset technique under many different scenarios, nothing different happens. Apparently the rebooting loop requires a lot of energy because charging through my USB can't keep up with it...

I would charge the battery for a bit. I'm not sure if the RUU has any battery level fail safe or not, I believe during the flash process that the phone will not charge even it's plugged in. (I'm trying to remember if mine had a charge light on it or not).

I believe the answer to your question is yes. The general rule of thumb is you must have 30% or more battery life prior to any flashing/updating as these processes may take some time and the phone does not charge during this time.

Hope this helps.
