Crazy battery drain suddenly

All 4, ITV and Skype gone and now its back to using about 1% hour, amazing difference :)

I tried to use the all 4 app on my Cyanogenmod based nexus 7, it didn't work.
I looked at the logcat and it was trying to do something DRM related which might be the cause of the issue on the nexus 5x. Maybe there's some broken "trusted computing" hardware or something in the 5x.
I'll try to post the relevant lines if I remember when I get home.

Had the same thing with the new All 4 app, seems back to normal now it's removed. Hopefully they solve that as it was a good update

Yeah it was definitely all4 and ITV because as soon as I deleted those apps my battery returned to normal. Thanks to whoever it was that spent the time to go through the process of establishing this.

I did email the developers via the play store email address and got a generic reply from channel4

Please be advised that we have passed on your comments for the attention of the All 4 department.

I've read conflicting reports as to whether Airplane mode also disables GPS. I admit it's grasping at straws, but it's one more thing to check before doing a factory reset.

Some more things you can try:

- Check the list of services running in the background. One of them could be a suspect. Android used to have a Settings screen that would display all running apps, but it appears to have been taken out of Marshmallow. .

Running Services is accessible via Developer Settings in Marshmallow.

:'( Same happened to my sony z5. I was thinking of staying in android 5 and waiting until 6 is more acknowledged by app developers.
