Creaking screen when writing on Galaxy Note 10.1

I recently purchased a refurbished Galaxy Note 10.1, and I've been using it to take a lot of notes (for an online class). I've noticed that the screen tends to making small creaking noises from time to time whenever I rest my palm on the screen to write, and if I look carefully I can see the screen visibly bend a tiny bit. I'm not even applying a lot of pressure: just enough to write with the S-pen. Is this normal, or is it something I should worry about? I have the option of sending it in for a replacement, but I would rather not have to go through this trouble. I can live with the noise if it's harmless, but I'm worried that my device will become damaged over time.

Do you have the 2014 edition? I've heard of that happening with the original Note 10.1 but not with the newest version(2014 edition). Mine certainly doesn't creak.
