So I can root, then get rid of the vzw garbage, and still run it as though it were stock if I wanted and nothing would seem different?

Yes. You could use titanium to get rid of the bloat but if you do that you won't be able to take ota updates (actually I don't know if you can even if you're just rooted).

But in ics and jb there's a feature to disable the bloatware, so you don't even have to root your can disable it and it hides it from the app drawer and doesn't use any resources.

OR you can root and flash a debloated rom(my favorite choice) which is why we used arctic hd in our thread. A lot of times developers will create a stock rom that has every bit of bloat removed and then they add their own features that make it even better and faster than stock.

So you have a couple options you can use

I looked at that Braden. Looks good i haven't got a chance to flash it yet as my hd just went in my laptop. In putting a new in in tonight so I'll flash tomorrow afternoon
