Ok so I rooted my phone and I wanna get into more personalization. I.e. LCD Density changer, tethering and all that but I don't know anything about doing backups. What are root backups? Why do I need them? How do I do it? I'm sorry for being a noob.

Nandroid takes a backup of your phone so if you was something up you can revert to the backup. You need to get to recovery. Couple ways: depends on your root method. Do you have clockwork?

To get a backup, search the market for rom manager. Once installed, use rom manager to install clockwork recovery. You can then either use rom manager to create a nandroid backup of your phone, or you can boot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup.

So lost. I don't know ANYTHING about "nandroid backups" but I can try. I will get Rom Manager and go from there. Can you walk me through it?

Certainly, Once you have ROM Manager installed, Open the app.
Select Backup Current ROM.
Set the name you would like to use, and hit OK.
You may be prompted to let ROM Manager have root access, grant access and then Your phone will reboot and start the backup process.
This will take a bit, so grab a cup of coffee and wait. Once the backup is complete, your phone will reboot.
That's all there is to it.

I did as your post instructed and rom manager seemed to reboot and then greeted me with a recovery screen ( I'm guessing) in which o had to use the volume keys to navigate up or down. I didn't know what to for from there. I'm running the stock rom, rooted and lag fix. That's all. I want to start doing more but want to backup my current stock rom. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit..I tried again and it said something about missing file signature??

Once in the recovery screen, You are looking for nandroid. Use the volume keys to scroll up and down and the power button to select nandroid. In the new menu, select backup and follow the prompts. The phone will let you know once complete.
