Curious to see what this turns out to be

rules out recent flagship samsungs and iphones since the actual battery that wasn't in the phone exploded...

I thought Lithium ion fires shouldn't be put with water???
 
According to the Virginian Pilot, Delta Airlines flight 2557 had just taken off when a cell phone battery that was not attached to a phone caught fire.

After the fire, passengers were told to turn off all cell phones.


Smh...fear is a mutha. And common sense is lacking.
 
I remember years ago a Dell or HP laptop battery caught fire on a plane and there was a big ordeal that the company went through... it just happens with batteries sometimes.
