I am currently using the Galaxy S II, and thinking about getting the AT&T One X (off-contract). Should I do it? Is it worth the upgrade, or would it be something different rather than an upgrade?

Also, I have a regular size SIM card and the One X uses a micro-SIM. Is this going to be a problem? Any way to convert regular SIM to micro-SIM, or ask AT&T for a micro-SIM?

Wifey also have s2, and when i upgrade from dinosour n8 to hox, she contemplating to do the same, but after trying for few days decide not to.

The speed increase is negligeble, as s2 comes with removable battery and sd card storage and power is not an issue . The only plus point for hox is the screen, which is much better.

So at the end no upgrade for her, decide to wait for s3 which is a disappointment, may be iphone5. Lg lt7 also look tempting

No one can really answer this but you. The One X offers a better display, faster processor, and better camera than the GSII. But one huge advantage you have right now is that your GSII (i777) has tons of development. If you can sell your GSII to recoup most of the cost of the One X then I'd say go for it. I'm sure you know the AT&T version of the One X only has 16GB of internal storage which is going to be an issue for some.

You'll need an entirely new SIM card to take advantage of the LTE speeds. If you buy the phone off contract at an AT&T store they'll give you a free micro-sim which is capable of LTE speeds.

Good Luck.

You also can cut the SIM card down. Just search YouTube and you will find tons of videos. I have done it before, with a $2 tool off some website ages ago. As long as you cut it correctly there is no issue. If you want the easiest way that guarantees you can't mess it up, just get a new mSIM from AT&T.

I just went to the AT&T store and they are telling me that they can not sell the One X at retail price (off-contract) for a month. Why is that?!

thats a bunch of crap for them to tell you that i went into one her in dallas and they said i could purchase off of contract as i told them i only use upgrades on contract for iphones everything else i just buy at the no commit price and they did say i could do it the guy even offered to hold one for me and gave me his card. I decided to go online to purchase because they wouldn't give me my 20% disc on hardware which is why i did it on the premier site but you can buy it off contract at the store or online either way.

Agreed that no one can tell you what something is worth to you. But, if you are on AT&T, then the LTE, screen, official ICS, processor are notable upgrades.

After using the One X for a few days, there isn't a phone in the world I WOULDN'T switch from. It's the most well-designed phone Ive ever used. It's fast. Ive never used a phone this smooth. I'm surprised the S4 performs like it does. It has a better build quality than anything I've used so far... and yet, still pretty light at the same time. The screen is amazing.

I'm having a hard time imagining a phone I'd switch to after using this one. I can only hope that HTC designs another phone equally as incredible 2 years from now. I'm in love with this design...

Thanks for everyone's input. I ended up getting the One X. As as I said in my earlier post, the AT&T store that is closest to me refused to sell it to me off-contract. I went to another AT&T store in the next town (short 10 min drive) and they sold it to me without any problems. Weird.

I have been playing with it for a few hours and loving it so far. The user experience is much better than the Galaxy S II. The screen is gorgeous and the colors are much more natural.

One thing I do not like is the scrolling screens that also scrolls the wallpaper. This makes using my own photos for wallpapers a bit more difficult. Any way to make it stop scrolling the wallpaper?
