Custom Icon Question - Desktop Visualizer

So I'm using Desktop Visualizer making some custom icons and made a few with no problem. Now I'm trying to make one for my text messages and I'm having issues. I set up just like the others and when I hit ok to create it, it will show the new icon briefly and then revert back to the factory icon. Is there any way around this?

There's a checkbox near the bottom that you can tick to "Encode" the app info in the shortcut to stop the icon being changed. You will lose the little number that shows you how many unread messages you have though and may experience some lag when selecting the new icon.

Ah perfect thanks. My second question is I've seen people make large icon.s and I cant figure out how. I have the cropping demo and the size add on but still don't know how to do it. Is there a how to on this?

You can add larger icons through the "Add Widget" menu. You will see options to add Desktop Visualizer for various sizes. Choose the size you want and it will be added to your home screen if there's room. From there tap on it to configure it with the icon or image of your choice.
