I extracted the both. See below for pictures of the files on my memory card as well, the cmd screen, as well as my the menu when my phone reboots into recovery.

The highlighted option you can't read is the "reboot system now" option.

you can but keep it simple with no spaces (such as "stock", "gingerbread", ect) -without quotes

I am using a different recovery and I would like to change to this one as it is the more recommened recovery for cm7. Do I need to do anything other than follow the install instructions to replace my current recovery? Any feedback is very appreciated.

No just follow directions and this recovery will replace the one you have now.

i am having an issue with this. its probably just me. i think i bricked my phone using ROM manager... :/
i can get into recovery mode on my phone. but i have to use screencast to see it. I can get into adb shell but when i do, i get the command line of

instead of just

so when i try to type in the command lines from this thread it comes up with this.

OK, your phone is not bricked, the recovery is just not compatiable with your screen. That's why your in this thread now. So someone can get adb shell going correctly.

so i have come to the conclusion that i am bricked. my phones folders have all gone missing except for the "clockworkmod" folder and all of its contents. can anyone help with this?

So i have done this twice and it worked both times in the terminal emulator, but when it goes to reboot...I still have the blank screen. So my phone turns on normal and everything but is extremely sluggish now. What should i do next? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also wanted to add that the .6 version as i read on the first post is supposed to correct this...From my 2 days of searching, i have seen that the .4 version doesn't have this issue. So if i should try that release, can someone please inform me and possibly point me in a direction i can download it. Again, thanks so much for your help!

are you rooted? if so make sure you have superuser permissions ( in adb shell, type su -watch your phone and click allow)

I did all the steps and am getting a blank recovery screen any ideas

try re-downloading the files (replace the old files) and extract them to root of sd card (dont forget to unmount sd card from computer before following the steps) -adb shell - su then go from there

Do i have to have the zip, rar, and the extracts all on the root of the sd? Also i got an (exception) error while extracting the img RAR? Tried 2 more times and still got an exception error. Makes me worry about doing this.
