Hey guys, is there a way to set a custom ringtone? I know about Zedge or other apps, but I'd like to set my music as a ringtone, is there a way to do this?
Thanks

Various music players offer this facility, Google Play Music doesn't. Download Poweramp from the Google Play Store. Use it to play your music and click on the three dots at the top right of the screen. One of the options is 'ringtone'

Alternatively copy and paste music files into the ringtone folder

Hi,
You will need a laptop to do this. if the music is on google play music then go to play.google.com. Log into your account and select your song. Click on download. Then, open the file. Connect your phone to your laptop and allow your phone to receive files. Access your phone's storage and drag the song into the "music folder".N.B. make sure the music is in mp3 form. Allow this to sync and then disconnect your phone. Download a ringtone making app, there are many on the play store. Now,find the song with the app and set it as your ringtone.
I hope this helps.

You don't really need a computer. Upload the file to your Google Play Music account, then download it to your phone. You don't need a premium account to do that. Or you can place it in Drive or Dropbox on your computer and download it.

I use Ringdroid, which hasn't been updated in a year, but seems to work fine with 8.1. It works with multiple formats, and you can edit the file to the length & content you want. And you can iso create notification sounds and alarms.
