Is anyone aware of a custom ROM to get jelly bean 4.3 or 4.4 on a RCA tablet? I have the 7" model with dual core arm cortex a9 1.2GHz processor, 1gb DDR3 RAM, and 8gb storage. I've rooted already and want to upgrade the OS. If I have to build my own custom ROM I will, but a quick look at the process indicates its not trivial.

I poked around a little, and I couldn't find anything. The device doesn't seem supported by CM, and many ROMs are based off that.

Can you tell me how you rooted it? I tried motochopper, but failed.

I tried to help my girlfriend root hers without success. I even tried framaroot and it blocks exploits. Also after some botched attempt her sd card was destroyed. Be careful.

Will you give me the custom rom also please?

I actually picked up one for my wife and later one for myself. Rooted mine with kingo. With no custom roms about all rooting gets you is the ability to remove a ton of Google crap, and some stock stuff you might not want.

ok to root thru kingo requires 2 programs, first download and install pdanet with the tablet plugged in, it will ask you if you want to install the drivers for your device (choose "other") after it is done do not unplug or turn off the tablet

step 2 install and run kingo, follow onscreen instructions and to not unplug until your device restarts.

step 3 open a beer

VROOT works great for these tablets too I bought 5 of them from Walmart for my kids and rooting them all or most of them by this method. Just don't up grade the OS or Kingo wont work you have to use the chines Vroot method. which is what I had to do.

I rooted a proscan 7" tablet and a rca tablet that's from walmart black Friday sale. I used kingoo root for both
if your using the kingoo.apk your doing it wrong, you need to install it on windows 7 or later for better results......
install the executable app on ur desktop and wait for finish, then open it.

now go into developer options and uncheck verify over usb...if you do not have that option, then you have to click on about tablet and press build like 7 times for it to open developer options.

then you go in and uncheck it. after that it should work. if you live in Canada I can do it all day for 5 bucks lol

I rooted my Maven pro 11.6 with Kingroot but the 5.0 version didn't work. I had to get the version below 5.0 Kingroot.

Used kingroot on my rca pro 10. But some things arent compatible with the kingusers binary. Use the "Super SUme".apk and itll switch everything over to su. Still havent found a rom or recovery. But I believe this is the same tablet i was able to use Xsposed Framework on.

Hi everybody!

For those who are trying to root their tablets, I don't know if this process will work for you but it did for me with an RCA DAA730R A9 Cortex, rooted in some quite simple steps using a computer with Windows 10

First of all This is a recopilation of one video and a few google searches for the archives and software explained in the video. I know it's in spanish but It's easy to get at the point if not just ask me and I'll be glad for helping

The video at youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RNHH96cki0

Here the guy explains you have to edit two lines of a file, but doesn't tell you where to get that file, well I got it for you

here is the URL:

http://www.downloadsource.es/177309
This one is tricky but If you get angry with adds or games just ask me and I have already downloaded for you

And at last but not least you have to download Vroot program, I downloaded Pc version

Download vRoot 1.7.3 - one click root application

Now lets have fun

1 Install the UniversalAdbDriverSetup file you downloaded at the beginning

2 Connect your tablet to the PC or laptop, go to printers and devices...select your tablet or any strange device that has appeared there, right click on properties... Select hardware tab and from the combo box select hardware id. This will show two lines, the same you have to replace in the directory just created when installing the universal ADB Driver, just copy one by one and look where is the guy of the video pasting them. II'ts very easy.
Open the file android_winusb.info with notepad. By default it's stored here C:\Program Files (x86)\ClockworkMod\Universal Adb Driver\usb_driver

3 Now you have pasted these lines try to save the changes, maybe you have to save them in other folder because of write permissions issues then get back to the original folder and delete that old *.info file. Then get back where you saved the new *.info file, copy it and paste it in the folder where you deleted the original *.info file. Are you with me yet?

4 Unzip the file vroot-download.zip you downloaded and install the iRoot in your Pc.

The next steps are just connect your tablet to the PC when iRoot asks for, and installing some Chinese software that later with king root installed you can uninstall very easily

Well folks, I hope this can help you. Thumbs up!
