Hey, I have recently bought a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and am interested in putting a custom ROM on it. Any suggestions on some good ones? I am relatively new to this so some advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Everyone has their favorite.
I've only tried BAMF paradigm so far, but I might install Sourcery this weekend.

Well .... this thread will be moved to the Rooting section shortly, I'm sure, lol.. but there you will find MUCH discussion.. a couple threads to start you off:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...s/166660-whats-your-current-daily-driver.html
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...r-galaxy-nexus-crackflashers-secret-lair.html
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...5-12-cyanogenmod-nightly-builds-official.html
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...g-roms-hacks/169563-aokp-vs-liquidsmooth.html

You will see they are all LONG and there's a lot of info. Try to read as much as you can, as people hate redundant / duplicate questions...lol... but in general don't be too shy about asking anything you need to know.

I'll go ahead and tell you right now the gold standard for all ICS Roms really is AOKP, discussion of which you'll find plenty in the Chatter and AOKP vs Liquid threads. Tons of customization options, extremely stable and reliable, based on 4.0.4 source. Enjoy!
