Custom text/email tones

I have the same problem with my Verizon LG G2... There has to be a way to have different text tones for one to many contacts... someone has to know... this is standard on even an iPhone!

Someone please help

Ken, you are right...I was just thinking tones in general not text and ringer. I'm thinking this has never been an option for droid without a 3rd party app like Go SMS. I just downloaded NinjaSMS because it's floating. Verizon removed messaging from the qslide and this is similar..not sure if custom tones are available in there yet, haven't even opened it

Yeah Kris, not sure if the other variants have this option (ATT etc.), but I notice that my GS3 does have it on an individual basis. But then the G3 can't set the LED on an individual basis. Give & take.

Chomp SMS allows a different notification sound, to be set by contact.

Tried Chomp and even that one doesn't seem to 'individualize' sounds by contact. When I'd select a tone for one contact, it would be universal across all contacts. If I went into a different contact and changed the sound, it impacted all contacts.

Edit: Never mind, got it to work. Doing this more for a friend since I really don't need this degree of customization for messaging. He's picking up his G2 tomorrow.

Hey Ken, yep seems ATT kept that feature but took out the group texting which Verizon kept...so odd!! Anyway, please try out NinjaSMS... it's great and YES it has individual custom tones and since we lost messaging in the qslide this is a great substitute!!
