Custom Text Tone?

Okay, so I want to have a custom text tone, but I can't figure out how. I've got ringtone and notification, but neither of those affect the actual tone when I get a text. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Open your messaging app, tap the Menu button, and look in the app settings for an option to modify your Notifications. You should be able to change the tone there.
