Custom Unlocked icon

My phone has shown this icon for as long as I've had it. It still does it after going through at least 4 factory resets. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you're talking about the padlock when you boot your phone up, then that means that your bootloader is unlocked.

That's it but my phone isn't rooted.

I briefly got that after flashing a custom recovery but after a reboot it disappeared and haven't seen it since.

This phone has done it since new. It doesn't do it everytime I restart or turn off and turn on, but it does sometimes. I've factory reset this thing around 3 times. I dunno, maybe an app.

My old Galaxy tab did the same thing even before I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader. No amounts of factory resets will fix it (as this icon is *supposed* to indicated an unlocked bootloader or custom recovery installed), but it's not something I'd worry about either.
