I notice the Back button is on the wrong side (I'm coming from the LG V20, and I'm left-handed to boot). Are the home touch button positions able to be repositioned on Samsung phones?

Thanks!

It is on the RIGHT side (sorry, I will always advocate for that hahaha). But yeah, it's 'customizable' (if the Note 8 behaves like the S8, and there's no reason why it shouldn't, you're limited to just flipping the back and recents buttons, no further customization).

That's good enough for me :)

If you're left-handed and the back button is placed on the right side of the screen it might be difficult to reach with one hand. I know with my hand size I can't, not comfortably (or securely gripping the phone) at least. And that's on an S8... the Note 8 is a good bit wider.

biotron I am left handed and have never had problems with the back button positioning on Samsung.

I just prefer it on the left. It's more intuitive to me.

I haven't attempted to use a phone one-handed in years. I generally go for the biggest phone I can get, so using it two-handed is not an issue for me at all. Frankly, I wish phones still came with screens as big as my old Lumia 1520.
