No not that I'm aware of.... I think going from Froyo EB13 or Eclair, yes... But not from a Gingerbread Modem back to EC05....

Here ya go for those of you who are rooted and running CM7 or other ROMs....

You must be on EC05 modem for this to update or you will get an error... So you need to flash EC05 modem first with Odin and then reboot and flash this zip file. Grab your EC05 modem file from the thread below...

So I'm running CWM 3.1.1 EC05 Froyo. I can't use this?

Are there any changes related to signal strength, 3g speeds, etc?

I'm on ERA ec05 rom/modem.

Sure I don't see why not.... As long as your current modem is EC05 you should be able to flash this...

I've seen snapshots over at XDA of others running EC05 with the new modem.

A few reports of better signal in areas (like school/college/work) where signal was spotty in the past. Speeds unconfirmed atm....

Signal strength has increased. Upload speeds looks consistently better. Not in a great area to test dl speed but overall improved.

Thanks, but I went ahead anyway and Odin'd back to stock and am waiting for the OTA. I plan to root again after installing, hopefully, having less tinkering to do to get GB on the phone.

I've been trying to find the zip file for updating from EB13 to EC05 with CWM that you're refering to, but haven't been able to locate where to download it from. The one I had on my SD card must have gotten messed up when my card went sideways. I tried to flash it & it said it worked but then the phone still says EB13 & the EI22 flash will not work because I'm still at EB13.

Do you know where the file can be downloaded from?
The only download link I can find doesn't work.

Worst case, I will Odin the modem next week some time.

BTW: Thanks again for all the help you provide Paul. Especially since you don't even have an Epic anymore. :D

I opened up the package, this is technically a "diff flash" It basically lists the segments that are different and flashes those, while leaving the rest the same. I should see if I can find how to make a regular flash from CWM so you don't have to be flashing from any particular version, and you don't have to run the system.

I was thinking of making a modified version of this package that does a clean flash, and a package producer that allows CWM to replace ODIN so long as it is present. (It will require a series of files in it's tarball to index.)

I've flashed the official EI22 modem for my Epic and I am using RandomRom Thunderhawk 2.3.5 Rom but it seems I can't get my 4G to work anymore. I've reflashed the mostly stock ROM and tried using a different Moden file for EI22 but I still can't seem to get it to work. Has anyone have any thoughts on this?

Any help would be greatful.

Same here, first I tried Legendary and now Thunderhawk 3.3. Have good 4g in my area. Possibly corrupt WIMAX files?

I've used Legendary before and now I'm on SleeperROM. After a couple weeks with both of these, my 4g will not connect at all in known good areas. Before that, on a OTA EI22 and rooted, I never had this problem. Will this official EI22 modem fix the problem I'm having with these custom roms? In other words, something is wrong with the modem in these custom roms?

Have you guys been able to figure out a solution or why our 4g connections are not working. I've already re-installed , re-wiped and even formatted my sd card to get a better wipe of my data. Reinstalled sleeperROM and within 2 days 4g stopped working again. It has to be something with the modem in the ROM(s). I'd be surprised if we were the only ones with this problem. Would suck if I have to abandon use of custom roms entirely because of this.
