I need help!

I'm going from a JB 4.1.1, CWM 6.0.1.0, VZW Galaxy Nexus - to - a Rooted SIII on VZW.

I did a full nandroid on CWM prior to verion 6 (version 5.X.X.X.) on my Gnex. I rooted the SIII, put appextractor and busybox in, and loaded the nandroid backup into my SIII (CWM 5.8.4.9)

Now, here's lies the problem.

When I choose to restore Contacts/Call Log & SMS/MMS, once complete and phone reboot, I get error messages like, "android.process.acore has stopped" and Messaging has stopped. The phone becomes useless (cannot wipe cache thru app's or get back to CWM without batt pull.) The only thing I can do is a full wipe to rid myself of it.

Am I missing something? I have nandroid'ed for ever without problems. I dont like SMS Pro (date's and MMS don't work.)

Beuler? Beuler? Beuler?

Possibly some kind of incompatibility with the way the information is restored. I used My Backup Pro to restore information from my Thunderbolt to the GSIII with no issues.

So long story short, you're trying to restore a backed up nandroid from a completely different device based on a completely different kernel?

I wouldn't even suggest restoring backed up apps from one device to another. In other words, just restore your GSIII to the stock ROM and start from scratch.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Android Central Forums

so after more failed attempts, I did get it to work via MyBackUp Pro. I was not concerned at all with programs or apk's. I just needed my call logs, contacts, and SMS/MMS files.

As for different devices, and diif kernels, etc.... I have switched from Droid Pro's to Thunderbolts, to Charge's, back to Pro's, then to GNex. Never had this problem.
