What does cyabogen have that's so desirable? Don't mean that to sound smarta$$, just curious.

I have it on my dinc and just as example on one part I really like is the settings they have in their rom so you can tweak settings even more for they have them broke down in categories so as ,applications,display,input,interface,lockscreen,performance,sound,and system

You can change the led color ,scheldule a quiet time for your phone , etc . just a couple I could write a whole page describing all the settings .

LOL my screen actually can rotate 360 degrees now if I want it to , or not if I choose not to .I can have my headphones pluged in for music and have the phone ringing on external speaker and control how loud that ring is when music is playing. Set quiet hours , dim led, and again this is just a few I mentioned many more

Also just one of the features I think is awesum with this cyanogenMod7 rom
so yup I love to see it be able to run on the dx

Speaking of samsung customers waiting for froyo, weeeee early in the am hours i flashed Kaoscinate V5 aka CyanogenMod 7 on my Samsung Fascinate! Feels kinda weird going from Eclair ~~~~~>do not pass go, do not collect $200~~~~~~> right on over to good ole Gingerbread ~

Now all i need is my DX to have some GeeBee love and i'll feel "current"...

If you want some Gingerbread on your Droid X now, why not flash Liberty, ApeX, or Rubix? Or are you only a Cyanogenmod fanboy?

Why don't companies like Google and Moto hire these people? They're very talented.

Not to discredit these people, but just because you can modify something someone else made doesn't mean you deserve a job creating it. If that where the case all the people who crack software should have jobs at the companies of the software they cracked. All the music "teams" should have jobs at the record labels in distribution.

Included in Cyanogen is a different Linux kernel. Thanks to the locked bootloader, a different kernel cannot be loaded. To my knowledge, the bootloader has not been cracked and I'm not sure Cyanogen will release an official ROM for a device they can't load their kernel on.

I'd like to see it, I love Cyanogen on my Droid. But I'd like to hear a bit more from cvpcs before I start to believe it will happen.

The locked bootloader is going to be the issue here. Currently it hasn't been broken (hence bootstraper), It's not that I don't think the CM team couldn't break it...but it maybe a matter of principal at this point and time, why bother spending time cracking Moto's bootloader when I can just build my own Kernal for other phones...

Actually I believe someone has found a way to load a custom kernel on the X, saw it in the forum about a month ago I think.

Must i answer? i am into things that are *real* and i hate imitations of all sorts, roms and people to name a few

I've been running CM7 on my Evo since the middle of December, so it really isn't anything new to me, but it is "current"...

i tried liberty last week, just for shyts n giggles, and my DX acted like it had water damage. acted all kinds of stupid. the only things it didn't do was drip and the screen did not fog up, *yet*. who knows what could have happened if i left it in for my then 3 days...
