CyanogenMod slowness?

I have recently gone from smoked glass to CyanogenMod, Cyanogen seems to be very slow, lots of home screen force closes, lagging when changing home screens, and killed my battery faster....anyone have any similar problems? and if so could someone recommended a new ROM for me? I tried Ultimate Droid and it wasnt bad, but something brought me back to Cyanogen. Any suggestions? oh and I am OC'ed to 800MHZ.

I highly recommended boostdscoob's Dominator 3. It is the fastest rom I have ever run and the temps run the coolest. If you want speed then here is your best bet.

Also bugless beast 1.0 its so snappy and stable even with stock kernel

Don't get me wrong BB is good and smooth but it doesn't touch Dominator 3. With every other rom I would hit 40 degrees C with average use. With Dominator I hit like 34 max

Well I am currently using BB with AdamZ smoked glass...lol...idk why, but i absolutely love that ROM thanks though guys!

different strokes for different folks. pete's rom is solid and it is one of the few reliable ones out there. If he releases 1.1 soon ill try it but at this current point i don't think i can use anything else then Dominator. i have tried many and many of roms and all were good but after a day or 2 i would notice either some slight heat issues or lag. with this one Boost's rom i experience lag rarely and the temps are amazingly low. and it is always snappy.

im not trying to push anybody here to install it but if you get a chance or some time to kill, give it a shot. if not, not a big deal. to each his own. good luck all

cyanogen was horrible for me..

whats this dominator? never heard of it.. so far the ones i used, ultimate droid and bb were the best ones.

right now im using bb with launcher pro and wow the speed and smoothness of the rom is awsome

If you go to the thread I posted in this section where the title of the thread list of roms themes kernels, you can find the link there.

There are 2 versions available. If you usevthe on screen keyboard make sure you download the Superman one. If you only use the hardware keyboard then download the one called bare bones. The only reason I say this is because he removed the keyboard apk in bare bones to conserve space. If you use both keyboards then go for the Superman one.

visually it is not for everybody. i mean it is very bright and to some people it may be childish. but performance-wise, i havent found any other rom that can beat it. Pete's is good but even that had moments of lag and even got warm do to like 15 minutes of consistent use. with dominator the only time i need to pay attention to temp is when i have it mounted on my windshield when im driving and it is hot and sunny out.

if it is the colors of the theme that's holding you back, you can probably theme the rom. i don't know what is compatible but i am sure it is possible

I actually crashed twice (two seperate wipes and re-loads) with Dominator 3.

I use bugless beast, and do NOT use SetCPU. I find it twice to 3 times as fast as Cyanogenmod. And it really is (almost) bugless - only problem I had was using GPS/navigator in the sun on my cardock, and the phone overheated and started rebooting a couple times. Went away as soon as it cooled down.

Personally I would have to agree that BB > Cyanogen on the Droid. While Cyanogen is a GREAT ROM and he is brilliant, I feel that everytime I try BB in comparison, it blows it away and is far more stable.

I am fairly new to BB (came from CM) and agree with you, Jared. If nothing else, the speed of BB is amazing.

I like Cyanogen as a mod and for what he does, but his ROM is slow as a snail...

True. I guess that all the additional functionality it provides comes at a price. If you want the functionality, then you must be prepared for it to be slow.

I agree....cyanogen was an excellent ROM and had a lot of options, but BB just has much more speed and nothing can compare...

Now, I just installed CM 5.0.7.1 and have to say it is as fast as BB 1.1. Things must have changed a lot since CM 5.0.6.2 (which was considerably slower than BB 1.0.

The new CM is faster than BB when you use a different launcher. The stock launcher causes slowness and lag but after installing Launcher Pro beta, everything is smooth and quick.
