Cyanogenmod6 on most recent VZW OTA update

will cyanogenmod 6 work on the most recent OTA update vzw has released? Of course after i flash it (whenever unrevoked releases a root)

also does cyanogenmod6 suck your battery life?

i couldn't say as to the update as i am rooted and have never been offered the update as to rather cyanogen 6 will suck battery ...i've been running 6.1 rc 2 on inc for a couple of weeks and it doesn't seem any worse then of the others i really like it as a rom with all the extra settings so i'd recommend it ...there ya go lol

when you flash a new rom you are completely removing the old one (including the update) and replacing it with a new one. one does not need to "work with" the other.

i often wonder why people go back to stock just to receive an update when they then turn around a flash a custom rom. perhaps they also think that the updates are "permanent" and stick with the phone even after flashing custom roms.

cyanogen mod is coming along nicely and is just about ready for prime time.
i think you will like it but know that there are still some bugs to work out.

Yeah, it's just a lack of understanding. I myself was rooted and still using the Stock Rom when the update came out. I was tempted to install the update but never did. I didn't want to lose root. I had tried a few roms, but nothing that I thought was better than the Stock Rom. Personally, i like the Sense UI. I came across Virtuous and haven't looked back. They incorporated most of the update (without the problems) into it. I like the extra features it comes with, and it still looks and feels like stock.

Also the rush to go back to stock for updates, I think people have that instant gratification to satisfy. Like they feel there is something the update will have, that they will be missing out on if they don't get it. Be patient people, if there is anything worthwhile in the updates, your ROM builder will put them in.

all i want is a vanilla rom. the basic froyo look. also something with a good music player. the sense's music player doesn't even have an equalizer and its just too basic. i also dont like the photo gallery. i used to have a samsung fascinate and i really liked its music player and gallery. any ideas which rom i should get?

If you want a music player with equalizer, download MixZing. I'm on a WinAmp kick at the moment! If you want a cool gallery, get the CoolIris 3D gallery. It's not in the market.
