CyanogenMod7 now available in beta!

I've noticed that my phone will only charge on the wall charger with CM7. Is there anything I can do so my phone will charge on my Macbook and USB port in my car (Ford Flex w/ SYNC) like it did before CM7?

It will charge with usb. With the screen on plug it in to the computer. For some reason if the screen is off it wont notice it.

If your battery is fully exhausted you won't be able to charge it on a standard USB port or some car chargers. I don't know if it is a setting somewhere, a bug, or just normal CM7 behavior to boot the device when less than 5% battery is available. There is no way that I can find to prevent the phone from booting and enter charge mode. All prior ROMs I've dealt with would prevent boot until enough juice was available to fully start the OS and begin charging. As I understand it the Droid X does not attempt to charge the battery until the OS is booted. If your battery is too weak it will appear to be stuck in bootloops due to loss of power. No charging occurs during boot.
This doesn't happen always but it has happened to me twice with two separate X's and batteries. I guess it could depend how gracefully it shut down when it hit the critical 5% remaining. Mine tends to take a while at the Shutting Down dialog draining the battery lower than can be rebooted with low power USB chargers.

Another problem may be the battery getting too hot from being in the sun (Car Dock) it will not charge when hot.

It sure is just need a theme guy to make it and put it together in a zip. I used to do this stuff but I'm super busy and really haven't had time to do theme work. You have to create 100 images so it takes some time. Maybe one night ill get it going if nobody does.

I created the 100 images and cooked a theme based off of androidian.apk but I think I am missing an important ingredient. UOT happily cooked the modified androidian.apk and I was able to install it and see it in Theme Manager but I'm still getting 5% increments.
I'm guessing it is not enough to copy/replace the existing png files in the apk and cooking it.
Can you point me in the right direction? My google-fu must be weak today.

Thanks

Been running CM7 for a few days now and I love it! Even though I've had my Droid X for over a year CM7 makes it like a brand new device. MUCH faster than the stock Blur/Bleh experience, no bloat, and I have root back. Plus, so far I've had no random reboots like I got with the stock GB (596). Proof IMO that the android community does much better work, even in beta, than manufacturers do in RTM lol.

Is anyone else having issues downloading the most recent nightlies from Rom Manager and the direct Cyanogen page? Everytime I have tried to download, I get an error. Could this have something to do with V6 charger or not having the latest version of Busybox?

I got last night's build using CWM recovery 2nd init and it worked just fine for me.

Is there any particular reason my hard camera button won't take photos and only the touch button works? The hard button works with Camera 360 Ultimate but that app has REALLY bad results with CM7 for some reason.

Hardware button hasn't worked on any of the builds I've tried (45-47).

What build are you on by chance and does the camera work at all? I ask because on both builds 46 and 47 as soon as I take a pic it displays on the viewfinder but the camera app freezes and the pic wont save. This also happens with the 3rd party camera app Vignette as well.

I'm on build 46. Try & give the free version of Camera 360 a go.

Nope, it also takes the pic then hangs... gonna try a data wipe later and see if that fixes it. I think it has to do with me trying to install the MIUI camera. I did uninstall it but I'm thinking something may have gotten left behind and may be causing the issue.

Camera not fixed yet. We have a few zips that will install a fix but its not from source so its just a fix till they get it coded right. Even with the fix zip the hard key does not work. The stock and vignette both work with the touch screen.

Ok I'll just be patient then.

I also noticed that on the last 2 builds, for me at least, the Torch app won't run anymore, it just FC's. Not a big deal just kind of a bummer as i found it pretty handy.

if you go into camera settings you can assign hard keys for taking pictures and adjusting zoom. i use my search button for taking pictures.
