For those who thought we would never see Gingerbread or CM on the Vibrant.. They are officially supporting our phones and it is Android 2.3.2 . Still in testing phase atm though so it isnt newbie friendly yet.

Not a newbie friendly install, but WOW. This is the fastest, smoothest ROM I've ever had on my Vibrant. It's darned close to being a daily driver. I need to play with it for a few more days to see what might not be working. Seems pretty complete, though the some are reporting the chronic Vibrant GPS problem. I haven't been able to test that yet.

As of the last update the only major thing not working is GPS. Prolly some minor bugs too but many people are saying its DD already. I'm waiting for GPS and battery life to be fixed before i flash.

What do you guys consider "fast" ? I mean, compared to what?

I want to install CM7 on my girl's Vibrant BUT she needs GPS and good battery life...I trust CM ROMs so I'm really looking forward to the work.

Battery life on the CM builds is pretty bad right now. They don't have it fully optimized yet.

My girl would love this ROM. You know you got a keeper when she says, "Baby, can you PLEASE root my phone and install a new ROM?"

Yup!

I've been waiting for this ROM for the Vibrant. It seems like its the most popular and fastest ROM for Droids. No?

CM7.1 RC1 was released a couple of days ago. Even though it's reached Release Candidate phase, there is still no working GPS. Battery life has also taken a hit and isn't quite as good as previous nightlies (which were some of the best results I've seen on my Vibrant from any ROM I've tried). Other than that, It's pretty amazing and daily-driver-worthy unless you rely on GPS or need to go more than a day without charging.

I'm thinking about rooting my phone with Super One Click and then using ROM Manager to intall Cyanogen. The one thing I'm concerned about is the GPS issues I'm hearing about. Does anyone know if the GPS with the CyanogenMod is worse than the stock GPS? Or, is basically just the same problems that people have with the stock GPS. If so, I may go ahead and move forward. Also, is Cyanogen noticeably faster than the stock Froyo ROM?
