D-Inc? Or wait for the Inc-HD?

I went 9 months with a storm 1 and then hit it with a shovel. Its was hands down the absolute worth phone I have ever had.

Cheat to win

Boy do I agree with you I still have mine. It's unlocked only reason I still have it really.

Having followed the arrival of LTE, and yup it's going to be available to me about everywhere I travel here.

I now think I'm sit out the first round of the LTE compatiable phones.

I would wait for the hd but that's just me I think I will get the first round of lte devices but I'm also planning on getting a year end device it just sucks it have to continue waiting have been eligible for over a month

I can't believe you have stuck with the Storm 1! Even the Storm 2 was a vast improvement. If you get your hands on ANY android phone of your own, you will be blown away and wonder WHY WHY WHY did you wait so long.

You will love the dynamic android system on probably any phone, but I'm partial to the X. So much brilliant screen real estate; it's like a mini-tablet with extraordinary speed! Use Launcher Pro Plus with Beautiful Widgets -- functionality and flexibility can't be beat. Add your apps, and ... beyond description!

I wouldn't say the Incredible HD is a huge upgrade from the Incredible. Of course, we don't know the exact hardware specs yet. It all depends on what you want from the phone and how long you're willing to wait. I have the Incredible now, have had it since July, and I'm still quite pleased with it. Plus, it's at least going to get the Gingerbread + new Sense update, so it won't be outmoded the instant Gingerbread becomes standard in phones.

As for dual core: these probably won't become standard until Honeycomb becomes standard. Plus, Android won't be able to take advantage of dual core hardware until Honeycomb. This could mean waiting until late summer or fall. Things become obsolete very quickly, especially in the Android world (although the second half of this year has been pretty slow, as nothing better than the Evo and the Epic have been released yet), so you'll eventually have to dive in and buy something.

Id say it would be like Upgrading from a Droid to a Droid2
of course the newer is better, but timing and pricing options could play alot into it.
Like for me there is a buy one get one for the Dinc and Lte prolly wont be in my area till Q3 2011 and Jan 2012 I can upgrade again. Again pricing and timing are the keys.

It comes down to timing, Verizon is going to have their press day on Jan 6th and announce their LTE plans, BUT, when will the phones actually ship. If the HTC Dolt ships in January and any other phones won't ship until March it will get the initial sales, but if all of the LTE phones roll out in Feb/Mar or Mar/Apr then it will simply get lost in the mix.

I like HTC hardware you certainly can do more with them like as fully unlocked NAND unlike Motorola which locks theirs down tightly.

I won't see LTE in my market until sometime in Q2 or Q3 (my guess here) but I wouldn't mind having an LTE ready phone, just which one is the question.

LTE is in my area now but I would still get the Thunderbolt if it didn't have it in my area. I like the front facing camera and the quality of HTC phones. And of course, not locked down like Moto.

I also had a storm 1. I absolutely hated that "thing" When my upgrade came I went to the DX and love it. Dont bother waiting any longer, 4G will to exspensive for what you get. Just buy the D-Inc. you wont regret it!

Did you miss that it's called the Thunderbolt, or are you refusing to use that awful name :)

I had the storm 1, storm 2, tour, then I chose the Android patch to DInc, fell off the wagon and tried the iPhone, despite the fact I like Apple products I truly felt the iPhone had too many restrictions for the price of entry. That and AT&T sucks in my area. Back to Android I went and have been happy hacking my phones.
