D-Pad, anyone use it?

How often do you use the D-Pad?

I came from palm where I was used to using it for everything. I don't use it as much as I did on the treo because I was enamored with the capacitive touch screen. I am getting over that now and starting to use it more again.

I use it to play my nes roms

I wish it were on the left side... cause I'd use it for my nes roms then... they should just ditch the whole keyboard idea and have a slide out nes controller interface... THAT would be pimp. :D ...and it would get used!

If there is a way to accurately position the cursor without it let me know!

I use it only when I have to, but its too difficult to use. I wish it were something like a track-pad like in the new blackberries.

its not my favorite feature of the phone, but i like having one if i need it. options are great when included. like multi-touch, i'd never use it for anything but copy and paste, but i'd like the option of using as a standard if i wanted.

Google get with it, multi-touch may not be something you want to include because its iphone like, but their is no denying the absolute dominance a multi-touch copy and paste functioality has over what is currently incorporated.

I rarely use the D-Pad, only when I really need to use it on certain web pages when I am too lazy to move my thumb up to the screen and scroll.

When I finally frustrate out trying to edit something, it's the last result.

Absolutely!

I use it to correct spelling mistakes, or in combination with the shift key to select only certain portions of text to copy/cut/delete/replace. Even when I go days without using it, I'm still glad it's there for when I do need it.

I think its a wast of space. I must would have preferred them use the space to improve the keyboard... I think its to large and from the screen being a touch its easily to text whatever then just hit the send key.

All the time. I wouldn't have gotten the device without it. It's very important so I can play all of the emulator games such as SNES, Amiga, C64. I also use it for moving the cursor for editing text.

Use the d-pad when im playing some pokemon gold and when im typing on a post, just to move around with more accuracy.

I use it for my emulators..

Thats about it.

It works great for NES games. I probably wouldn't ever play them if I didn't have my D-PAD. :p

NES games.

Fine grained editing.

When you do a search that is similar to a previous search. You type in a few letters and it comes up below. You want to edit it. If you click on it it just uses that as the new search, and activates it. BUT, if you scroll down with the d-pad, you can edit it above without the search activating. I really wish they would make it possible to edit the search without the d-pad, though, so I can avoid opening my phone to edit a search.

I'm not a heavy D-pad user like i am with the keyboard, but it is most useful for editing typos specifically when leaving a comment on Android Central.

Agreed. I use my keyboard/D-pad for my emulators like using GBCoid to play Pokemon. If I were left with just the touchscreen controls I wouldn't play them either.

What do you use to emulate pokemon? Is it memory heavy?
