DAC external/high impedance problem

There may be the possibility that the ear buds are defective too. Hard to say without comparing them to another set, though.

As aside the dragonfly red works well with the h3 as well as mentioned the high impedance mode when the h3 was working on the v20.

Not really. Unless specifically cleaned, most anything metal will have residual oils and such from the manufacturing process. They usually don't cause a problem and wear away quickly with use.

No.... They were stating a fact. The preservative coating triggered high impedance or external mode on occasion because it added resistance to the circuit. Just an oversight. If you buy an adaptor or extension cord and plug it into the phone first you can false trigger it into external mode. There are ways to add resistance to trigger high impedance but its not worth the effort. There may be some adaptors on the market with high resistance also.

If you are listening to your own music on the phone you can also use a third party app which allow you to boost the sound a bit through an equaliser.
